Here are the top stories today in Savannah:

  1. Savannah's Criminal Investigations Division detectives are seeking the identities of three subjects in relation to a recent aggravated battery incident. On Oct. 10, three unidentified individuals were involved in a physical altercation at Broughton and Whitaker streets, one of whom sustained injuries. The subjects are described as Black males, possibly in their 20s, and detectives are looking to identify them and bring them in for questioning. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Police in Savannah are asking for public assistance in identifying several "porch pirates" who have been caught in the act. Multiple suspects have been captured on surveillance footage removing packages from porches throughout the city, and it is expected these incidents will rise as the holiday season approaches. Police have released still photos from the footage and request that anyone with information on any of the subjects pictured should contact detectives at (912) 651-6994. (WJCL News)
  3. A threat posted on social media aimed at three Savannah-Chatham County public high schools was ultimately deemed a hoax after a "soft lockdown" at the schools on Wednesday morning. (Free: Our Community Now; Subscription: Savannah Morning News)
  4. The Savannah Police Department is warning residents of a potential phone scam in which scammers pose as a Georgia Power worker and threaten to turn off the power if the person does not make the requested payment, typically in the form of a gift card or money pack cards. (WTOC)
