Speaking to a special legislative committee, she warned that handwriting requirements could disenfranchise many disabled voters and argued that accessible machines are essential for independent, private voting across Savannah and the rest of Georgia.
5. Jesup sex crimes case pleaded down; Prosecutor speaks, local attorney breaks down plea (wtoc.com) — A plea deal in a Jesup child cruelty case is drawing scrutiny, and a Savannah attorney is weighing in on why sex-offender registration was not included. The victim's family questions the outcome, while prosecutors say evidentiary challenges about when the sexual contact occurred led them to negotiate probation, a short jail term, and a ban from Wayne County instead.
