Morning, people of Savannah! Sammi Caramela here with your brand-new Savannah Daily.

First, today's weather:

Sunny. High: 72 Low: 40.

Here are the top stories in Savannah today:

  1. A piece of Savannah's history is a step closer to being saved. After years of neglect, The Kiah House Museum will have a historic marker placed on it by the Savannah-Chatham County Historic Site and Monument Commission. It's also slated to be purchased by the Historic Savannah Foundation, cementing its place in the city's history. (WTOC 11)
  2. A rezoning application has been submitted to turn a property at the Oglethorpe Mall into a multi-family living complex. Surrounding businesses and city leaders alike are hoping the proposal will be approved by the Metropolitan Planning Commission, bringing much-needed business to the area. Should the application be approved, the proposal will then be brought to the city council. (WTOC 11)
  3. The Georgia Ports Authority is introducing a mega rail system that could relieve congestion at the ports, including the Port of Savannah, by transporting containers closer to their destinations. (Fox 28 Savannah)
  4. "Fear the Walking Dead," the spinoff film of the wildly popular TV show "The Walking Dead," is slated to move production to Savannah this December. (Undead Walking)
  5. Savannah's annual Veterans Day Parade marched through the city Thursday to celebrate our troops and all those who served this country. (Fox 28 Savannah)
