Here are the top stories in Savannah today:
- The Savannah City Council voted on a number of large projects for the city's future yesterday, including the fairgrounds, affordable housing, and youth programs. The future of the fairgrounds property could be decided after years of planning, discussions, and community input. But several other proposals will also be put to a vote. (WTOC)
- Detectives are working to identify three subjects in an ongoing aggravated battery investigation. According to the Savannah Police Department, multiple people were involved in a fight early Oct. 10 on Broughton and Whitaker streets. One person sustained serious injuries (WSAV-TV)
- The Exchange Club of Savannah has canceled the South Georgia State Fair's opening day due to rain. (WJCL News)
- Police say a crash with serious injuries has shut down a portion of the Truman Parkway. (WJCL News)
- The Southern Women's Show in Savannah has suspended production going forward, according to a Facebook post. (WTOC)
