Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- Leaders with the City of Savannah are considering several property change proposals for city-owned locations. While no decisions have been made yet, the staff is reportedly looking at the Civic Center complex, the Johnny Mercer Theatre, and the Thomas Gamble Building. The city's staff will meet next week to discuss potential next steps and funding options. (WTOC)
- The Savannah Police Department has arrested Ivory Alonzo Brooks on robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and criminal use of firearm charges. He was arrested following the robbery of Truist Bank in the 1000 block of Chatham Parkway and is now being held at the Chatham County Detention Center. The department is asking anyone with information related to the robbery to contact the department. (WJCL News Savannah)
- The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System will be hosting a Family Engagement Day at Daffin Park on Apr. 30. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will feature food trucks, games, music, and special reading activities. The district will be having an attendance competition to find the three schools with the most attendance at the event. (WTOC)
