Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. The popular Dancing with Savannah Stars event was able to raise $225,000 this year. The funds will go toward supporting Brightside Advocacy's Savannah Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. Twelve Savannah stars danced and raised awareness of the work that CASA performs for the community. (Savannah CEO)
  2. The Savannah Police Department has made an arrest in a February shooting case. Jamil Romar Singleton was arrested for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old George Williamson in the 400 block of McKenzie Place. The department has not yet released the motive for the shooting. (WJCL News Savannah)
  3. The 2020 class of the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame was inducted on Monday night. The ceremony was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The inductees are chosen through nominations that are submitted by the community.
