Here are the top stories today in Savannah:

  1. Police are investigating the shooting of a 26-year-old man in Downtown Savannah. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred on the 200 block of East Bay Lane shortly after midnight and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Police ask anyone with information to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line or CrimeStoppers. (WJCL News)
  2. The Jasper County Sheriff's Office is searching for the person who vandalized a Hardeeville church's property. According to Chief Deputy Jeff Crosby, the suspect did $15K worth of damage to the fence. The incident happened around 9 p.m. Sept. 21 at First African Baptist Church at 4526 South Okatie Hwy.(Bluffton Today)
  3. The Savannah cultural arts and community centers are set to reopen Monday, Oct. 4 with city programming, events and activities. (WSAV-TV)
  4. The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) will host a virtual Buddy Walk on Saturday, Oct. 2. (WTOC)
  5. The inaugural Habersham Woods Garden Tour will happen on Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (WTOC)
