Stay up to date on everything happening in Savannah with Patch's daily newsletter.

Happy Monday, Savannah! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening locally today.
First, today's weather:
Plenty of sunshine. High: 69 Low: 45.
Here are the top stories today in Savannah:
- Two major Savannah roads have reopened after flooding-related closures on Sunday morning. Highway 80 was closed from the Bull River Bridge to Lazaretto Creek after the fourth-highest tides in city history caused the road to flood, and Shipyard Road leading to Burnside Island was also closed after the roadway flooded. As of Sunday evening, Lewis Avenue near 6th Street and Miller Avenue between 9th and 10th street were closed. (WSAV-TV)
- Rain and flooding didn't stop Savannah runners from participating in the annual Rock 'n' Roll Marathon this weekend. However, event organizers canceled the full marathon due to weather conditions and made the half marathon the main event on Saturday. As part of the Rock 'n' Roll series, Daffin Park hosted a 5K, a 1-mile run, and the KIDSROCK race on Sunday (FOX 28).
- The Historic Savannah Foundation has a contract to purchase the Kiah House Museum, a 1910 Savannah house that was labeled one of Georgia's most endangered historic sites last year due to water damage and vandalism. The property originally belonged to Virginia Kiah, a civil rights activist, artist, and teacher who turned her home into a museum for African American children who were banned from Savannah's segregated institutions in 1959. This past week, a committee of Savannah's Metropolitan Planning Commission approved a historic marker for the home. (The State)
- In last week's special election, Savannah's former mayor Edna Jackson won the vacant Georgia state House seat that had been held by state Representative Mickey Stephens. Jackson won the majority of the votes against the four other candidates, so a runoff election will not be needed. Jackson can take office as soon as results are certified, meaning she's likely to join the House for the remainder of the ongoing redistricting special session. (The State)
