🌱 Former Port Worker Pleads Guilty + EMS Investigation Results

Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:

  1. A former port worker has admitted to calling in a bomb threat to a Port of Savannah facility. According to the Southern District of Georgia, Elliot Sherman, 23, pleaded guilty to False Information and Hoaxes. Sherman was dismissed from work early on Sept. 11, 2020, and apparently called in a bomb threat hoping other workers would be dismissed so he wouldn't have to wait for his ride. Sherman faces up to five years in prison. (WTOC)
  2. Chatham County investigated EMS response times in the area after allegations of Chatham Emergency Services' late arrival at a deadly shooting in Savannah last month. According to Chatham County Manager Lee Smith's investigation, no fault was found. "We had a paramedic there in seven minutes. We verified that through CES dispatch, county 911. Within eight or nine minutes upon her arrival, the actual ambulance arrived," said Smith. (WJCL News Savannah)
