Here are the top stories in Savannah today:
- Memorial Health neurosurgeon Dr. Daniel Suh is the first in southeast Georgia to perform a rare treatment available for brain cancer patients. The surgically implanted radiation therapy is the insertion of tiny tiles into the brain to delay the regrowth of a brain tumor. The small tiles provide targeted radiation, limiting the damage to healthy tissue surrounding the cancer. (memorialhealth.com)
- Officials say a 4-month-old infant is in critical condition and a 14-year-old and 45-year-old are seriously injured after a home explosion in Savannah. A fourth person was also taken to the hospital to be checked out but injuries do not appear to be serious. Officials say the explosion was caused by a propane tank behind the house. (WJCL News)
- The Savannah City Council will vote on a development proposal this week, including the fairground redevelopment. (Savannah Morning News)
