Here are the top stories today in Savannah:
- A suspect was arrested in relation to a Savannah shooting that left 23-year-old Terrance Palmer dead on Halloween. Paris Holmes has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and single counts of party to a crime-murder and robbery by sudden snatching. According to police, he was booked into the Chatham County jail Wednesday. (fox28media.com)
- A storm system is developing off the Southeast Coast, bringing rain, wind and cooler temperatures. Rain and coastal flooding are forecasted to be the highest tides since Irma for the Savannah area. The greatest impacts are expected on Friday and Saturday. (WJCL News)
- Savannah baker Cheryl Day, co-owner of Back in the Day Bakery, is releasing her new book and holding a book release party at her bakery this weekend. (WTOC)
- The Savannah Police Department is asking for help in identifying a bike thief who was caught on camera at a home on Drayton Street on October 30. (WSAV-TV)
- Savannah's first Black police officer, Lt. John Alliston White, had Bouhan Street at Waters Avenue renamed for him on his 97th birthday. The street is now officially named Lieutenant White Avenue. (WJCL News)
