Good morning, people of Savannah! It's me again, Kayla Harrison, your host of the Savannah Daily.

Periods of sun; breezy, humid. High: 76 Low: 64.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Savannah:

  1. Historic Savannah Foundation is charting a new path forward with an affordable housing program. The Foundation will renovate homes throughout the Savannah region with the purpose for them to be available through the city's Dream Maker program. The homes have reportedly been donated, which keeps renovation costs at an acceptable minimum for the Foundation. (WTOC)
  2. A newly finished mural in West Savannah is honoring a late quilter. The mural stands 8 feet by 60 feet and portrays quilt designs created by Emma Freeman Williams. The mural project, meant to honor Williams's artwork, was paid for by the Urban Tree Gran Project. (WSAV-TV)
  3. The newly constructed Girl Center will open in March in Savannah. The project is a joint effort between the Georgia Southern University and the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia with the aim to provide the community's girls with access to STEM resources. The grand opening of the center will be part of the Girl Scouts' 110th celebration. (WTOC)
