Here are the top stories in Savannah today:
- An issue gripping police departments nationwide is affecting some local police departments. Chief Jeff Hadley with the Chatham County Police Department said hiring and retaining officers is a challenge as his department has been left 25 officers short, which is a 20% vacancy rate. (WSAV-TV)
- The global shortage caused by the pandemic has caused a new delay and setback, this time for grieving families in the Savannah area waiting for gravestones. Oglethorpe Marble and Granite says they have about 30 to 40 headstone orders waiting and they have no idea when they'll be able to get them done. (WTOC)
- Local charities are highlighting their Giving Tuesday efforts in the Hostess City. Organizations across the area want you to remember that charities are in need of assistance throughout the year, not just on Giving Tuesday. (WSAV-TV)
