🌱 Mayor Named In Top 100 Most Influential + Back River Rescue

Morning, Savannah! Here's everything you need to know to get this Saturday started off right.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny. High: 59 Low: 51.
Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- The Georgia Trend magazine named Mayor Van Johnson among the 100 most influential Georgians. The magazine discussed Johnson's work on the $165 million Enmarket Arena, which was the city's largest public works project. This is the second year in a row that Johnson has been named on the list. (WSAV-TV)
- Two people were rescued after a boat capsized on the Back River near the Talmadge Bridge. The Savannah Fire Marine Unit responded to the call and found the two stranded in marshy shallow water near the bridge. (WTOC)
- Savannah Fire responded to an apartment fire on Abercorn Street. Four apartments were damaged, but none of the occupants were injured. There was, however, one pet that died. (WSAV-TV)
