Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is urging parents to complete a meal application form before school resumes in August. The support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will end this next school year but the school district will continue to serve free breakfast for all students. Parents are asked to fill out the form when it goes live on July 1 at this link. (Press Release Desk )
- Savannah Technical College will open a culinary institute downtown at 7 West Bay St. The college has been planning the culinary institute for 11 years. The first floor of the institute will house a bakery, the second floor will have two teaching labs, and the third floor will be open to the public. There will also be a wine bar, a wood-fired oven, and a theatre kitchen in the basement. (Savannah Morning News)
- As of last night, the Chatham County Police Department was still searching for a missing 15-month-old child. August Washington is believed to be with Tyquell Washington, 33-years-old, and was last seen at Murphy's Express on Pooler Parkway on Friday afternoon. Anyone with information is being directed to call 911 immediately. (WJCL News Savannah)
