Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:

1. A mother accused of DUI and vehicular homicide in the death of her son has pleaded not guilty before the Chatham County Court. In August 2021, while driving with her 12-year-old-son Logan, Madrina McCay allegedly crashed into a tree on Johnny Mercer Boulevard. The accused is requesting a jury trial; a status hearing will reportedly be set for a future date. (WSAV-TV)
2. Artists have begun work on the Water Works Pedestrian Walkway Mural, adjacent to the entrance of the newly-opened EnMarket Arena. The mural project, currently the largest in Chatham County, will feature the work of four artist teams and their interpretation of "Savannah's Pathways." The first team of artists, The River Runners, are well at work on their portion of the mural. (Connect Savannah.com)
3. Local publication Savannah CEO reports that nearly 7 out of 10 employees' views of work changed amid the pandemic. The article, which cites a survey recently conducted by MAU, discusses workers' increasing desire for flexible work and more time spent with family. (Savannah CEO)
