  1. The Savannah Police Department is investigating after one person was shot and killed Wednesday night on New Castle Street. Authorities say 42-year-old Timothy Lewis was found with a gunshot wound around 10:30 p.m. and transported to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (912) 525-3124. (WTOC)
  2. The Savannah City Council heard proposed changes on Thursday to the city's St. Patrick's Day celebrations planned for Mar. 17. In addition to a new proposed festival zone, the proposed changes included suspending permits for entertainment, alcohol, and food sales in public spaces and prohibiting out-of-town buses from parking in the expanded zone. Council members say that the changes will be implemented as part of a pilot program with opportunities to readjust in future years. (WTOC)
  3. The Oatland Island Wildlife Center is introducing two new cougar cubs to visitors this week at the Cougar Crossing exhibit. The cubs were found in a backyard in Washington state last fall after their mother abandoned them. It has been more than a year since the Oatland Island Wildlife Center lost its last cougar, Shanti, due to illness. (Press Release Desk)
