Here are the top stories today in Savannah:
- Savannah's Police Memorial Trail will officially reopen on Monday, Nov. 29. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 11:30 a.m. at the trailhead on the corner of Kerry St. and Dixie Ave., where City and County officials will gather with the Tide to Town board and members of the community to celebrate the conclusion of the five-year renovation effort. - All 159 County commissioners from across Georgia came together in Savannah this past Saturday to discuss the impacts the recently passed, bipartisan infrastructure bill will have on local communities. The bill's intent is to help rebuild roads and bridges, improve transportation and expand broadband and access to clean drinking water. Each commissioner noted their counties would benefit from these measures. ( WTOC)
- In response to Diabetes Awareness Month, the Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is bringing the mobile version of the Forsyth Farmers' Market to the Hostess City today. The partnership between CAT, Healthy Savannah and Forsyth's Farmers' Market have will bring local seasonal fruits and veggies through the Farm Truck 912. The truck will be parked at Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (WSAV-TV)
- Pure Barre Savannah and Humane Society of Greater Savannah teamed up on Friday for Pups and Paloma's where people "Sip, Sweat, and Pet." This event was to bring awareness to dogs' adoption and raise funds for the Humane Society medical department. Guests enjoyed mock cocktails, high-intense workouts, and puppy kisses.
