Police Sting In Savannah Results In 30 Arrests

The Savannah Police Department has completed Operation Total Focus, which netted 30 arrests and seizures of stolen guns and drugs.

SAVANNAH, GA — Authorities seized multiple drugs and stolen firearms in a recent two-day operation, which resulted in 30 arrests.

The Savannah Police Department partnered with the Georgia State Patrol for Operation Total Focus, the third time the two agencies have collaborated since August, police said.

Authorities ran Operation Total Focus Friday and Saturday.

Five firearms, cocaine, crack, fentanyl, Oxycodone and marijuana were all recovered in the sting, police said.

Fifteen of the 30 arrests were for driving under the influence; nine of which were felonies, police said.

Since Savannah police has partnered with GSP, the three operations have resulted in 83 arrests, the recovery of five stolen vehicles, 10 firearms and various illegal narcotics, police said.

“These operations are already proving to be impactful to overall safety," Savannah Police Chief Lenny Gunther said in a news release. "By using intelligence-based policing, we are targeting individuals and activities across the city that are resulting in crime issues and overall safety in our communities. We plan to continue this partnership and momentum with more operations in the near future.”
