Hey, neighbors! Sammi Caramela here with today's issue of the Savannah Daily.

First, today's weather:

Sunny and beautiful. High: 76 Low: 53.

Here are the top stories today in Savannah:

  1. The domino effect of the crisis at the Port of Savannah and the subsequent backlog is causing business owners to look for alternative means of getting their products out. The Georgia Port Authority reported that the problem lies with getting containers back. Another related problem for businesses: getting an estimated arrival time of containers from the port. (WJCL News)
  2. The Salvation Army of Savannah is slated to kick off the holiday season with its Red Kettle Campaign this weekend. The campaign will take place during the Bass Pro Shop "Santa Wonderland Kickoff" event on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This free and family-friendly community event will include a Christmas-themed tailgate with cookies and hot cocoa for all, with children receiving complimentary goodie bags. This event will raise awareness of the iconic Salvation Army fundraising programs. (savannahceo.com)
  3. Halloween may be over, but there's plenty of spooks to go around at the River Street Inn, reportedly haunted by mischievous ghosts and even the spirits of children. (WJCL News)
  4. Electric Moon Skytop Lounge at Plant Riverside District will continue its free weekly outdoor live music series in November, featuring performances every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the rooftop deck. (savannahceo.com)
  5. Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship hosted a free Fall Festival for the community Sunday. The family-friendly event featured activities and games for the kids, food, trick-or-treating, and COVID-19 vaccinations for the adults. (fox28media.com)
