Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate, campaigned with David Perdue in Savannah. The campaign stop is part of Perdue's attempt to unseat incumbent Governor Brian Kemp. The duo held a press conference at Sheltair Aviation to urge Georgia residents to vote during the primary on Tuesday. (WJCL News Savannah)
  2. The Savannah Cultural Arts Center has launched a new program designed to offer rental space at a discounted rate. The program will offer grants to local nonprofits for renting the Ben Tucker Theatre or Studio Theatre. Some nonprofits will even be able to rent the spaces for free based on operating budgets. (Savannah Morning News)
  3. Chatham County reports that it has seen a significant increase in the number of early voters compared to the 2018 primary election. According to the county Chairman for the Board of Registrars, 14,000 people have decided to vote early this election. In 2018, only 6,200 early ballots were cast in the county. (WTOC)
