Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. The City of Savannah announced plans for affordable housing. The Pinyan/Procida Development Group purchased the land and plans to include 40 residential units, along with some retail and parking spaces. Development is planned to start in late 2022. (WJCL News Savannah)
  2. Leopold's Ice Cream is hosting its 12th annual creative writing contest in partnership with Live Oak Public Libraries. Students are encouraged to write a poem surrounding the theme of kindness. The finalists will win an ice cream party for their classroom. (WTOC)
  3. A Savannah business delivered coats for kids to United Way of The Coastal Empire. This was the second year that Canady's Heating and Plumbing partnered with United Way to ensure communities in need had warm clothing. They collected over 1,000 coats this year. (fox28media.com)
