 SAVANNAH, GA (October 9, 2021) – Savannah Police Violent Crimes detectives made a quick arrest in the fatal shooting of an adult male yesterday.

Around 6 p.m., October 8, officers responded to the 100 block of Coastal Place on a report of a male suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, they located an adult male with life-threatening injuries, which he succumbed to.

Detectives began quickly collecting information on this case and were provided a suspect description. The suspect, identified as Charlie Sapp, 54, was located in the vicinity of the crime scene and detained. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with murder.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
