SAVANNAH, GA (December 2, 2021) – Drivers to the downtown area should anticipate traffic closures on Dec. 4 near Franklin Square for the funeral of Pastor Emeritus Matthew Brown Sr.

The roads surrounding Franklin Square, to include Montgomery Street between W. Bay Lane and W. Broughton Street as well as W. Bryan Street between Jefferson Street and MLK Boulevard, will be closed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow for parking of funeral guests. Only funeral attendees will be allowed on the closed streets. The funeral services are only open for invited guests and family.
A public event to honor the life and memory of Pastor Brown will be held in the Johnny Mercer Theater at the Savannah Civic Center on Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. All guests attending the public service can park in the Civic Center parking lot. They will be required to be masked and temperature checked.
