Here are the top stories in Savannah today:
- The City of Savannah is seeking public feedback on the future use of the city's Water Works building. Now through Dec. 17, community members are welcome to weigh in on how they believe the historic building, which sits at the corner of Gwinnett Street and Stiles Avenue, should be repurposed. Officials say the city hopes to repurpose the building for community use while maintaining its historical integrity. To participate, fill out the city's anonymous online survey at savannahga.gov/waterworkssurvey. (WSAV-TV)
- The Economic Opportunity Authority is offering a new water assistance program for residents in the City of Savannah with past due balances. Residents must meet income guidelines and supply verifiable information to be eligible. To get an appointment, call (912) 721-7910 starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday. (WTOC)
- The Savannah Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Friday morning at West Congress and Jefferson streets. According to the police department, 23-year-old Ol'Liek Dashawn Bonaparte was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. The police department says preliminary information indicates that the shooting may be connected to an earlier altercation. (WTOC)
- St. Vincent's Academy, a private Savannah school on East Liberty Street, was named one of nine "Best of Georgia" winners of 2021. (WJCL News)
- The Savannah African Art Museum is looking for volunteers and docents to help share the rich history of West and Central African with the community. (WSAV-TV)
