Here are the top stories today in Savannah:
- When COVID-19 hit, it forced many businesses and operations to shut down, including the supply chain. Today, Savannah ports are now sitting at full capacity due to a large amount of cargo sitting on the terminal. In fact, 80,000 containers are currently on the Georgia Ports Authority terminal, causing congestion on the port. (fox28media.com)
- A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Savannah early Tuesday morning, according to the Savannah Police Department. The pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by an oncoming car when trying to cross Mills B Lane near the intersection of Edwin Street. According to police, he did not use a crosswalk and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. (WTOC)
- A new company is bringing an $85 million investment with more than 150 new jobs to the Port of Savannah. (WJCL News)
