🌱 Savannah Programs Curb Violence + GHS Research Center Reopens

Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. Savannah unveiled programs to curb violence. The Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement program is intended to identify people at risk of violent crime or who have a history of committing these crimes. The $1 million program will provide community grants to organizations providing conflict management, messengers, violence interrupters, after-school activities, youth sports, counseling, and mentoring for kids most vulnerable to violence.   2. Georgia Historical Society's Research Center will reopen after its three-year expansion and renovation. GHS has five million manuscripts, documents, photographs, rare books, and artifacts. The Research Center now has an archival wing that was built last year. (WTOC)
  3. An investigation is underway after four people were shot in Savannah, police say. All four victims were transported to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries and the other three with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information is available. (WTGS)
