SCCPSS: Tybee MLK Human Rights Organization Announces Speech Contest Winners

The Tybee MLK Human Rights Organization is pleased to announce the winners of its annual speech contest for Chatham County students. The goal of the contest is to discover the inspirational voices of young activists and advocates for social justice.  "We are thrilled at the great response and great quality level of the entries.," said Ben Goggins of the Tybee Island MLK  Human Rights Organization​. 

From over 100 entries, judges selected:

Tayanna Gantt, Kaitlin Loury, and Tyahnna Hill from Hubert Middle School; teacher Nickie Cespedies.

Raegan Smykla from Godley Station K-8; teacher Suzanne Campbell.

Fernanda Avila Degrandez and Michael Garcia from Groves High School; teacher Timothy Mantooth.

Chayce Keasler and Alanis Hernandez from Windsor Forest High School; teacher John Callanan.

Jennie Garber and Kelsey Brewton from Savannah Arts Academy; teacher Richard Clifton.
