Here are the top stories today in Savannah:
- The Savannah Police Department's Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a two-vehicle crash on Truman Parkway today that resulted in the death of one of the drivers. Officers responded to the crash located on northbound Truman Parkway near Montgomery Cross Road around noon. According to a preliminary investigation, a Nissan Pathfinder traveling southbound entered the grass median, resulting in the vehicle rotating and entering the northbound lanes. (WJCL News)
- The South Georgia State Fair is finally happening after a year lost to COVID and a day lost to rain. The former Coastal Empire Fair returned Friday night with a new name in a new location, but the same old fashioned fun. The Exchange Club of Savannah had to delay the opening Thursday night because of rain, but they are moving forward today. Everything is back this year - the food, the games, the rides and the entertainmen (WTOC)
