Here are the top stories in Savannah today:

  1. Leaders in Savannah and Chatham County have announced a voluntary vaccine incentive program for full-time and part-time staff. Employees will be eligible for $500 if they get fully vaccinated against COVID-19. County Manager Lee Smith estimates roughly 10,000 individuals are eligible. (WSAV-TV)
  2. The Savannah Police Department is seeking help from the public in locating a missing 25-year-old woman. Jermeria Cooper was last seen near Pennsylvania Avenue wearing a baby blue blouse, blue jean shorts, and black and white Vans shoes. SPD believes Cooper may be with a white male named Brandon. (WTOC)
  3. Police have located the guardians of the 2-year-old boy who was found walking alone in Savannah near Montgomery and Exchange streets. (WJCL News)
  4. Two elderly residents have been displaced after a bedroom fire on Bacon Park Drive. (WSAV-TV)
  5. Suspect David Brohawn was arrested for the homicide of a homeless individual on Victory Drive in June. (Savannah Morning News)
