Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- Two people have been displaced following a cooking fire in the 1000 block of West 38th Street on Sunday. The Savannah Fire Department has determined that the fire was started by a burning pot on the stove. An elderly resident was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation treatment. - Savannah held its first-ever Walk to Cure Arthritis over the weekend. Arthritis Foundation held the event to raise awareness for the disease that affects over 50 million people in the United States. The foundation reportedly hopes to host additional future events in Savannah.(fox28media.com)
- Savannah's Office of Sustainability has announced an initiative to reach 100 percent clean energy by 2035. The announcement was made in conjunction with the celebration of Earth Day.
