Here are the top 3 stories today in Savannah:
- During an early-morning fire on Monday, a woman and a dog were rescued after getting trapped on a second-floor balcony. Fire crews were called at about 2:00 a.m. to a home on Montgomery Street near Bolton Street. Crews brought both the woman and dog to safety, and the people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. (WJCL News Savannah)
- On Saturday, a man was shot after Savannah police say he pointed a gun at an officer and led police on a foot chase. No officers were injured in the incident. Zachary Smith, 24, was injured and remains in the hospital. (fox28media.com)
- A man was charged with murder after police say he was connected to a shooting death in Richmond Hill, about a half-hour outside Savannah. 36-year-old Eric Montrell Wright has been charged with murder. Officers were called to the scene around 3 p.m. on Sunday and when they arrived, they found a person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. (WTOC)
