A little introduction

My name is Chris Benfield, Owner and Chief Instructor at The Atlanta Martial Arts Center: Vinings. I got started in the martial arts as an adult, and I've been actively training for 10 years and teaching for 8. I am bringing the excellent classes taught at our main school Atlanta Martial Arts Center in Woodstock, GA (www.atlantamartialartscenter.com) to Vinigs, Smyrna, and Marietta. I've had so many life changing experiences during the last 10 years, and want to help others discover the great benefits that studying the martial arts can provide. On this blog, I'll be posting about those benefits and much more. Additionally, you will see updates to events at both the Woodstock and Vinings locations.

The Atlanta Martial Arts Center: Vinings (www.amacvinings.com) is coming soon to serve the communities of Vinings, Smyrna, and Marietta. We are an extension of the Atlanta Martial Arts Center in Woodstock, GA (www.atlantamartialartscenter.com), and we will be hosting Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (GBJJ) classes beginning in October 2013 at the Smyrna Community Center. Our classes focus on the excellent fitness and self-defense benefits that regular training of GBJJ provides to the practitioner. The Owner and Chief instructor, Chris Benfield, has been training for over 10 years and teaching for over 8 years under Sifu Alan Baker at the Atlanta Martial Arts Center in Woodstock, GA. Chris is currently a 3rd stripe brown belt under Master Pedro Sauer, and is currently pursuing his black belt. Chris also actively trains in Defense Lab and Kung Fu.
