SMYRNA, GA — Police say they have captured a man suspected of robbing a bank Wednesday morning in Smyrna.
The Bank of America on South Cobb Drive was robbed Wednesday morning around 10 am, according to police.
"An unknown black male entered the bank wearing a blue bandana carrying a black semi-automatic handgun and made demands from the bank staff to give him the bank money," said Louis Defense, a spokesman for Smyrna police. "After receiving an underdetermined amount of money, the suspect fled from the bank on foot."

Defense said Darius Caldwell was captured a short time later because a citizen “observed some suspicious behavior in the area of the Bank of America and then called 911 to report it,” he said. A Smyrna police dispatcher also contacted the banks in the area to make them aware of the suspicious activity.
Police say when Caldwell was apprehended, he was wearing a dread-locks style hair wig. Police also recovered the money and a black handgun.
