Her attorneys are pushing for immediate safety overhauls to better protect vulnerable patients, while questions remain about any criminal investigation and the facility has not publicly responded.
   

• Former Mail Carrier Gets 2 Years for Stealing Checks (newsmax.com) — A former postal carrier has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for stealing 171 checks worth over $1 million from mail she was supposed to deliver in Smyrna and nearby areas. Investigators traced missing mail complaints to her route, recovered stolen checks and gift cards at her home, and say the case reflects broader federal scrutiny of mail theft in Georgia.
   

• Atlanta woman cheats Amazon out of more than $9 million, buys a Lamborghini and a Porsche (wsbtv.com) — Federal prosecutors say an Atlanta couple used a fraud scheme at Amazon's Smyrna warehouse to steal nearly $10 million, buying a high-end Smyrna home and luxury cars before being caught. One partner has now been sentenced to more than 16 years in prison and ordered, along with her co-conspirator, to repay Amazon and forfeit the big-ticket purchases.
