In an update Tuesday, police said two victims were in " very" critical condition.
The department told Patch they were not identifying the deceased as of early Monday morning.
The fire heavily damaged eight apartments, but fire officials said they deemed 24 apartments uninhabitable. Around 30 people were displaced due to the blaze, they said.
"The Cobb County Fire Investigation Unit’s preliminary indications are that the fire appears accidental in nature, but this could change as they work to bring resolution to the case," fire officials said in an update Monday afternoon.
