Blue Bell Issues Ice Cream Recall
The recall affects three ounce ice cream cups which may have been exposed to Listeria bacteria.

Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling some of its ice cream cups after a test revealed they may be contaminated by a potentially deadly bacterium.
According to the FDA, Blue Bellβs 3 oz. institutional/food service ice cream cups with tab lids due to a positive Listeria monocytogenes test done on a cup recovered from a hospital in Kansas. Listeria can cause an infection marked by fever, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, but can also prove fatal to children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Pregnant women infected with Listeria can also miscarry or suffer stillbirths, the FDA said. No illnesses have been linked to the cups as of yet.
The cups are not sold in grocery stores but have been distributed to Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming via food service accounts, the FDA said.

βThis recall in no way includes Blue Bell Ice Cream half gallons, pints, quarts, 3 gallons or other 3 oz. cups,β the FDA said.
Anyone who has purchased these cups is urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with additional concerns may contact 979-836-7977, Monday β Friday 8 a.m. β 5 p.m. CST.
