Boycott GA Dealers. Buy Used Cars Private-Party.

GA Auto Dealers have decided to fight Tesla's entry into the GA market. It's time the consumers fight back by boycotting auto dealers in GA.

According to http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-08-29/tesla-fight-erupts-in-georgia-as-dealers-seek-sales-ban.html , Georgia dealers are trying to block Tesla’s entry into the market. Currently, Tesla owns one small store in Marietta, but is planning to open others in Decatur and Buckhead. Consumers should fight back against this anti-competitive, anti-consumer, and anti-environment practice by not buying new cars or certified used cars from dealers. Instead, we should boycott dealers and buy used cars from private parties. To take it a step further, for those of us that can afford it, we should buy used Tesla vehicles. With a 2% interest auto loan, you can own a 2 year old used P85 supercharger Tesla (not the performance model) for $60k or less, which is about $800/mo at a 3.5% auto loan over 7 years.

Spread the word with your friends as well.

The Tesla sales volume is too low for them to need to form dealerships, because although it’s a supercar, it is too expensive to compete with typical cars. Consumers interested in Teslas are not going to buy low-end electric cars, so they are not competition. However, the GA Auto Dealers Association wants even a piece of the Tesla sales and force them to form partnerships. The dealers also don’t want to encourage additional direct sales entries. Unfortunately, because Tesla is one of the safest and most efficient cars on the market, the lack of choice the Georgia dealers are creating hurts consumers.

The worst issue is that Georgia was one state on the list (though near the bottom) for a potential plant due to infrastructure and existing vacant facilities. This shouldn’t help our bid for Tesla to choose Georgia and create jobs.

We should respond by boycotting car dealerships. Especially the following, on the board of the GA Automobile Dealers Association, should be boycotted. However, you shouldn’t stop here:
