Cain Drops Out of Race for President

Claiming that he will not be silenced and he is not going away, Herman Cain, , announced Saturday that he was suspending his campaign immediately.

Cain said the "untrue allegations and false accusations" had hurt his family and caused too much of a distraction to the country at such an important time. He said, however, that he was reverting to Plan B, which is to continue to be a voice for the people.

"Becoming president was Plan A, now we are going to Plan B," Foxnews reported Cain told a crowd of supporters in his hometown of Atlanta, Saturday. "I know that many of you are disappointed and I certainly understand that. I am disappointed that it came to this too. One of the reasons I ran for president was so that I could change Washington DC from the inside. Plan B is that I will have to do it from the outside. It is going to take a little longer and we are going to have to work a little harder."

Cain said he has launched a new campaign and website to continue to bring his message. He said he would continue to promote his 9-9-9 Tax plan and that he would be making an endorsement of his choice for president at some time in the near future. He made it clear, however, that it would not be "the current occupant of the White House."

Before making the announcement, Cain said he was "at peace with his God, at peace with himself," - that he was at peace with his wife and she was "at peace with him." His wife, Gloria, was at the conference with him when he made the announcement.
