Campbell High School Students Tried to Leave Campus to Fight, Police Say

Authorities were able to prevent the fight from happening and kept both students on campus, a warrant says.

Campbell High School campus police prevented a pair of students who were planning to fight one another from leaving the school grounds late last month, the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

According to a warrant acquired by the MDJ, two male students were roughhousing during a gym class at 10 a.m. on Nov. 21 when one student struck the other in the face. A teacher watching the situation separated the would-be pugilists, but the MDJ reports that they decided to settle their differences off campus.

150 other students in the gym noticed the commotion and became interested in the potential confrontation, the MDJ writes. When the assistant principal and several teachers were unable to stop the two students from leaving the school, campus police were called in to help, says the MDJ.
