Campbell High School's SAT Scores Fall Behind County, State, and National Pace
The Smyrna-Vinings high school was 20 points below than the average SAT score for Georgia during 2014.

Smyrna-Vinings’ Campbell High School scored lower than the county, state, and national average scores on the most recent administering of the SAT, figures from the Cobb County School District released on Tuesday reveal.
The average Spartan senior scored 1425 on the 2400-point exam, which was 20 points lower than the statewide average of 1445. In Cobb County, the average SAT score was 1515, which was 18 points above the national average score of 1497.
74 percent of Campbell’s Class of 2014 took the SAT, up from 71 percent of the Class of 2013. Campbell’s test-takers earned an average critical reading score of 483, a 9-point jump from 2013’s levels. The school’s math score decreased from 473 to 470 between 2013 and 2014, echoing a similar decline across the county and state. Writing scores jumped from 458 to 472 for the Class of 2014.

In Cobb County, Walton High School boasted the highest average score of 1724, marking the seventh consecutive year that school has topped the 1700 mark on the SAT. Osborne High School brought up the rear of the county’s scores, with an average of 1248.
