Celebrate National Thrift Store Day in Style

Today, Aug. 17, is National Thrift Store Day and Smyrna-Vinings Patch has the scoop on where to get affordable styles for you, your family and your home.

is Smyrna’s newest shopping destination and offers name brand and designer labels—some never worn—at affordable prices.

“Stop in during National Thrift Store Day because it’s a fantastic time to shop,” said Nina Sansini, owner of Then Again Consignments. “Whether you’re shopping or consigning, your closet’s going to thank you for coming here.”

Sansini’s shop offers brand names like BCBG, Anne Klein, Louis Vuitton, Brahmin, St John, Ann Taylor and Talbots. Dresses at Then Again are currently on sale at discounts between 20- and 50-percent. Capris and shorts are 25-percent off and all items in the kid section are 50-percent off.

Sansini is also starting to add fall merchandise to the floor and is still accepting consignments for fall.

Smyrna is also home to several thrift stores that offer clothing, furniture, electronics and house wares at deep discounts.

The Goodwill located 3205 South Cobb Drive offers a 25-percent discount to seniors, adults aged 55 and older on Tuesdays. The store also offers a weekly “color sale.” All items in the store are designated with colored tags. At the beginning of each week a color is chosen, and items tagged in that color are 50-percent off. This week’s color is blue.

, located just across the street, takes the color sale a step further. Each week store managers designate three colors, each representing a 25-, 50- or 75-percent discount. This week tan tags denote 75-percent off, blue tags denote 50-percent off and violet tags denote 25-percent off.

Smyrna Thrift Store offers a senior day discount of 50-percent on Wednesdays. The discount applies to men and women’s clothing, hats, shoes, scarves, belts, socks, hosiery and purses.

The store is also gearing up for its Labor Day sale and change of season sale. In honor of Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, Smyrna Thrift Store offers a 50-percent discount on all its merchandise.

The change of season sale begins the following day. Tuesday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 9, all spring and summer clothing will be 50-percent off. Saturday, Sept. 10, spring and summer clothing will be 50 cents before being further discounted to 25 cents on Sunday, Sept. 11.
