Cobb County Police to Search for Man Feared Drowned in Chattahoochee
The missing man dived into the river on Tuesday but never resurfaced.
Cobb County police divers will continue searching for the body of a man they believe drowned in the Chattahoochee River on Tuesday.
According to WSB-TV, emergency crews were able to rescue one of two men who got into trouble in the river off of Sandy Point, near Akers Drive. FOX 5 Atlanta reports the distressed swimmers were kayaking at the time of the incident, and that the missing man was attempting to swim to a nearby island when he disappeared.
Search crews called off the rescue effort on Tuesday night, but plan to begin a recovery operation at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
