Cobb Man Sentenced for Craiglist Armed Robbery
The 21-year-old was convicted by a jury last week for a crime which took place in 2014.

A Marietta man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after he was convicted of armed robbery and aggravated assault, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Michael Dayquan Armstead, 21, was found guilty of his role in the May 16, 2014 robbery of three Gwinnett County men who had come to the parking lot of the Country Hearth Inn and Suites looking to buy power tools they had found on Craigslist, according to the DA’s Office.
Instead of completing a deal, the three were held up at gunpoint by three men and a woman, who took the victims’ money, cell phones, and keys, the DA’s Office said. Armstead’s co-defendants previously pleaded guilty to their roles in the crime.

“The jury sent a message to criminals who prey on innocent people through websites like Craigslist,” said ADA Paul Camarillo, who prosecuted the case. “The citizens of Cobb County won’t stand for this type of violent crime.”
