Cobb Police Urge Residents Not to Confront Theft Suspects
Thieves allegedly pointed a gun at citizens trying to stop them from breaking into a truck on Tuesday; in another case, the thieves fired.

Cobb County police are asking residents to call 911 instead of trying to chase off suspects trying to break into parked vehicles after two incidents which saw firearms involved.
On July 29, an employe at a business in south Cobb confronted men trying to break into a company pickup truck.One of the suspects pulled a gun on the employee, police said. On Tuesday, a similar incident occurred, but this time the armed man fired a shot towards the employee.
βThis alert is a caution to all well meaning citizens. Please do not confront anyone breaking into a vehicle,β police said Wednesday. βYou never know if they have a weapon. Be a good witness and do not hesitate to call 911!β
