Cobb Police Urge Residents Not to Confront Theft Suspects

Cobb County police are asking residents to call 911 instead of trying to chase off suspects trying to break into parked vehicles after two incidents which saw firearms involved.

On July 29, an employe at a business in south Cobb confronted men trying to break into a company pickup truck.One of the suspects pulled a gun on the employee, police said. On Tuesday, a similar incident occurred, but this time the armed man fired a shot towards the employee.

“This alert is a caution to all well meaning citizens. Please do not confront anyone breaking into a vehicle,” police said Wednesday. “You never know if they have a weapon. Be a good witness and do not hesitate to call 911!”
