Coyote Spotted In Smyrna, Animal Services Is On the Lookout
Cobb County Animal Services is working with the Atlanta Coyote Project to relocate a wandering coyote in the Smyrna area.

SMYRNA, GA — A dark-colored coyote has been spotted in the Smyrna area and Cobb County Animal Services is helping the Atlanta Coyote Project track it down.
They plan to relocate it to a safer area in Yellow River Sanctuary. Anyone with information is asked to email Info@atlantacoyoteproject.org. It’s described as a melanistic coyote of possibly a coyote/dog mix, which the Atlanta Coyote Project says is common among coyotes in the southeast. They have received more than report from the Smyrna/Vinings area about the animal.
The coyote is said to not be aggressive, but “overly comfortable around humans and dogs.” It’s appears to have been born this past spring and is possibly looking for a mate or territory since we are currently in the midst of coyote breeding season.
