Crash Kills Man Laying On Cobb Road
A man was laying down in the roadway for an unknown reason and was fatally hit by a pickup truck, Cobb County Police say.
ATLANTA, GA — A man laying down in the road for an unknown reason is dead after being hit by a pickup truck early Saturday morning in Atlanta's Vinings area, Cobb County Police said Sunday.
Officers say they do not know why the man was laying on Powers Ferry Road near Sherwood Drive around 1:15 p.m. He laid perpendicular to the roadway, partially in both the center turn lane and the northbound lane, police said.
Simultaneously, a 2014 Ford F-150 that was traveling north on Powers Ferry hit the man, police said. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

The man was not identified, pending next-of-kin notification. The driver of the Ford was not injured in the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
