Cumberland Borders Begins Liquidation Sale Saturday
Bookstore retailer to shutter 3 of 4 outlets in Cobb.

The Borders bookstore near Cumberland Mall began a liquidation sale on Saturday after it was announced this week that it and three other Cobb locations, including the , would be going out of business.
The financially-plagued retailer sent an e-mail to Borders Rewards members late Friday promoting sales of between 20 percent to 40 percent off most merchandise in the Cumberland store, including books, CDs and DVDs.
The location at 3101 Cobb Parkway in the Parkway Pointe Shopping Center is one of five in metro Atlanta, that are closing after the Ann Arbor, Mich.-chain this week.

Borders is closing 200 of its 674 stores nationwide. No specific dates for the store closures have been announced.
