Does Your State Candidates Support Increase Funding for HCBS?

Ask your candidates to Increase funding

Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), part of Georgia Council on Aging, provides in home services to seniors and Alzheimer’s patents and family caregivers that are vital to keeping the patient in their home setting.
Helping these patients live in a familiar setting easing their stress and maintains a normal routine of living. HCBS provides nutritious meals (meals on wheels) to patients while they can still live independently. Staying in home, after they need supervision requires family caregivers support. HCBS provides in home care services, adult day care and respite care for the caregiver spouse or partner. This care can make it possible for the caregiver to continue working, or get badly needed relief from stress. These services postpone the time when the patient requires nursing home care . The cost of HCBS is far less than the taxpayer cost of State Medicaid funding for nursing home facilities.
Ask your candidate, if elected: What will you do to increase HCBS funding to meet the rising need from Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers?
I thank Rep Michael Smith and Sen Jen Jordan for their support to Alzheimer's priorities during this past legislative sessions.
