This is one of the highest honors the ACR can bestow on a radiologist, radiation oncologist or medical physicist. Only about 10-percent of ACR members are honored with this recognition as ACR Fellows are tapped for their committed service to organized radiology, teaching, research or the College.
Lipman is a pioneer in the development of uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) and is an active participant in clinical research trials that have helped demonstrate the safety and efficacy of UFE as a treatment for uterine fibroids.

Finally, congratulations to the hospital’s marketing and public relations department for its Silver Aster Award, which is a part one of the largest national competitions of its kind and is hosted by “Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine’’ and Creative Images, Inc.
Emory-Adventist Hospital was recognized for its “You Wouldn’t Miss Your Next Hair Appointment, Why Skip A Mammogram?” advertisement, which ran in October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The 2011 Aster Awards received approximately 3,000 entries from across the United States, as well as Canada and South America. Participant’s entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
“It is such an honor to be recognized by our healthcare marketing peers,” said Tonya Long, director of marketing and public relations. “This is great motivation for our department to continue to strive to inform the public, in creative ways, about the valuable services offered at Emory-Adventist Hospital. We are blessed to care for our community.”
